Cairns is a gateway to the Great Barrier Reef, the largest living structure on earth. We won’t be exploring the entire 1,429 mile length of this UNESCO World Heritage Site, but even our brief introduction to this incredible natural wonder will be the adventure of a lifetime.

Weather & Climate
Cairns is beautiful in July with temperatures hovering in the mid-seventies (~24°C) and the water temperatures hovering between 71°F and 77°F (22 - 25°C). A typical mid-winter day in Cairns resembles a warm summer's day in Sydney or Melbourne.
July is part of the dry season in Cairns, meaning greater visibility while diving. Along the outer reef, the waters are renowned for their clarity, with visibility commonly over 30 meters and some sites reaching over 60.
Getting to Cairns
While it is possible to reach Cairns by flying into Brisbane and driving up the Sunlander scenic highway, this is a bit arduous and unrealistic.
We recommend flying into Cairns International Airport (CNS). Transit to and from the airport is included in your tour package.
